Scutisorex thori - Thor’s Hero Shrew

I got the opportunity to visit Bill Stanley’s recently described Thor’s hero shrew (Scutisorex thori) last week. In the second photo the middle specimen is the only other known species - the African hero shrew (Scutisorex somereni), discovered at the beginning of the 20th century - and the top vertebral column belongs to that of your average shrew.
