It was recently discovered that some previously known species of millipedes are actually UV reactive! Many insects see this spectrum of light, and the reactive glow acts as a warning to potential predators, saying yo, buddy. I’m full of cyanide. Originally these glowing insects Myriapods were found on Alcatraz Island, but this little guy was found here in Illinois.
